Cessna "A" Series Prototype

Little note was taken of Clyde V. Cessna’s first airplane flight over Wichita’s business district in 1913, but the Wichita aviation pioneer would go on to change the face of aviation. In 1928, Cessna built a monoplane with a full cantilever wing, that is, one without supporting struts and braces. The Cessna “A” Series prototype is shown here with 17 men on the wings to demonstrate its structural strength.
