This traveling exhibit of black and white photographs showcases two decades of Kansas City jazz musicians. Pulitzer-prize-winner Dan White’s portraits allow the viewer to engage with some of the personalities shaping the national and local jazz scene, including Jay McShann, Orville “Piggie” Minor, Eddie Saunders, Rusty Tucker, and Pearl Thuston. In addition to these stunning images, the exhibition features glimpses into the artists’ personal histories through excerpts of interviews with the musicians. "The Fine Art of Jazz" is a program of Exhibits USA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance, with the National Endowment for the Arts. Typically available during business hours, Tuesday, 11/15, through Saturday, Jan., 7. Exhibit may be unavailable during special events.
