Kick off Super Bowl weekend with the "Super Bowl" of Opera, Il Trovatore, on February 4th! Enrico Caruso once famously remarked that "all you need for a successful Trovatore is the four greatest singers in the world." And the Wichita Grand Opera doesn't fail to present an exceptional array of singers. Sung in Italian with English projected above the stage, this world-class cast is led by London's Royal Opera tenor Julian Gavin as Manrico and Metropolitan Opera soprano Zvetelina Vassileva as Leonora. Conducting the performance is Maestro Steven Mercurio, returning to Wichita after leading the WGO in Bizet's Carmen in 2010, and last season's 10th Anniversary Gala Concert, has appeared on live television and on tour with Andrea Bocelli, the Three Tenors, and Sting with the Royal Philharmonic.
