Imaging Office Systems, Inc.
Document management systems
For more than 37 years, Imaging Office Systems (IOS) has been the leader in document management solutions. Founded in 1972, IOS began building its expertise on systems that, by today’s standards, seem low-tech. But moveable filing cabinets and offsite paper storage systems were the beginnings of an industry IOS helped build into the high-tech business it is today.
That experience—gained from the ground up—was a determining factor in a decision by the City of Indianapolis to outsource its record management services to IOS in 1992. IOS was the first vendor chosen by Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith as the city’s privatization movement was launched. Seventeen years later, IOS is still working with the city and has converted more than 125 million images as part of our contract. Today, IOS serves Fortune 500 companies, governmental agencies, major universities, hospitals, manufacturing companies, and a diverse cross-section of businesses throughout the Midwest.
Since the early 1970s the document management industry has gone high-tech and so has IOS. Over the years, IOS has developed a thorough understanding of clients’ document management needs—from imaging, document conversion to microfilm, microfiche and data files, to electronic storage media. Not only do we understand how our clients use their storage and retrieval systems, we’re experts on security and compliance. The Indiana Supreme Court trusts us to convert and manage thousands of records as part of a contract IOS first signed in 1995.
IOS’ ability to stay on the cutting edge of designing document management systems and installing the very best equipment has allowed our business to grow every year. As a result, Canon, a top manufacturer of imaging hardware, granted IOS exclusive territory rights in Indiana and Kentucky. IOS has additional territories in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan.
In October 2006, IOS merged with Imaging Solutions Company expanding our territory into Kansas. Today, our staff consists of more than 150 employees, including 18 account representatives and 26 technical imaging experts. While IOS works with affiliates nationally, our employees are concentrated in six states—Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Kansas —and operates from offices in Indianapolis, Columbia City, Chicago, Wichita, and Kansas City.
In the Midwest alone, IOS has installed more than 500 imaging systems each with diverse customer profiles. Using equipment from the nation’s top manufacturer—like Canon, Bell & Howell, and Documentum—IOS converts roughly 6.5 million hard copy pages per month to digital images.
